Relieve ᐧ Restore ᐧ Revive

Our bodies lock in the tension and stress of everyday life, carrying it without us knowing until some part of us aches or hurts. This is our bodies letting us know something isn’t right. I saw growing up that giving a simple massage, such as a light back rub, would relieve a lot of the tension and stress that family members and friends felt.

The amazing thing I love about massage is that it encourages our bodies to work the way they were designed to naturally. With some encouragement through use of massage techniques like effleurage and petrissage, the human body can restore itself to a place of healing. I strongly believe in the role of complementary therapies such as massage as part of a bigger picture of healthcare as I have seen and experienced first-hand the many benefits of massage therapy.

In giving massages I’ve observed how much people feel revived in their body and mind from having a massage. A massage can bring someone to a place of relaxation that allows them to feel more mentally and emotionally prepared to handle the stresses of their life. As the stiff and achy muscles relax, so the stress and anxiety that causes them is released too alleviating both body and mind and leaving clients feeling revived.

Why Fit for Life Massage Therapy?

I am passionate about enabling people to live and work to the capacity their body allows. But what makes my business different to other massage businesses? I am a massage therapist who aims to not only help you feel better but also enable you to be as fit for your life as you possibly can be. To be “fit” means to be “in good health” and this is what I strive to see clients pursue. I will work alongside you, coordinating with other healthcare professionals where appropriate to ensure you have the holistic care that you deserve. Not only am I committed to CPD to enhance my practice so that I am able to offer clients a wider range of services, I am emotionally intuitive and use my intuition to find and treat the places that are most tender, tight or hurt that clients may not be aware of until I am working on it.

Massage therapy is for everyone. It supports and enhances wellbeing and physical capacity for people from every walk of life, whether they run their own business, do a physically demanding job, play a sport as their career or are a stay at home parent. Massage therapy can help anyone be able to be fit for their life.

I love people. I find connecting with them energising and being able to in some way enable them to live their life to the fullest brings me so much joy.

I first learnt to give massages as a child in the Philippines as a way to get food to fill my stomach and my baby sister’s and to also pacify intense emotions and feelings of family members. Since being adopted into the UK, I gave massages on and off, mostly back rubs, as a way to connect to my new family members.

It’s something that came very naturally to me, and I’d do without thinking while watching TV with friends or family. I really saw how simple massage helped them enormously in relieving their every day stress, aches and pains as they let me give them massages. Eventually, after supporting her with massage through many medical issues, my best friend convinced me to try and make a career out of it. I’m naturally intuitive so even before I learnt any proper techniques, their names or what they did, I relied 100% on feeling and intuition. It was this intuition that my friend spotted and was the reason she encouraged me to explore massage therapy.
